Established in 1991.
Creative Audio's first store was opened in Pittsburg, KS in March of 1991. The company was started to thrive in the customization of car audio, from simple systems to full custom fabrications. With business booming, Creative opened the Joplin location in 1994. Our Sedalia location was originally purchased from Reference Audio in 1997 shortly after in 2003 a new store was built. Our store in Springfield was purchased from Auto Air and Audio in 2001 and went through a major renovation in 2004. Columbia, is a state of the art facility which was opened in September of 2012. In 2019 we opened up the first part of our distribution center in Ozark, Missouri. This facility we designed from the ground up to get the products our customers want to their door as quickly as possible. We have since completed phase 2 after running out of room shortly after opening and doubled the square footage of our facility. Since Columbia we have opened a location in Bentonville, AR in 2021. Bentonville had been a goal for many years as we've watched the region grow and with how much we liked to visit the region for all the amazing outdoor attractions.
Acquisition of Car-Fi.
For many years Creative Audio and Car-Fi have shared similar stories of growth and even shared the same town. Creative Audio had Five retail locations and a 50,000 square foot warehouse before acquiring Car-Fi, it’s two stores, and it’s intellectual properties of Competitive Audio.

Events
Creative Audio has always been a part of the community we reside in. We hold several annual events such as Third Thursday Show UR Rides which allows our customers and fanatics alike to show off their cars and installations, every Third Thursday of the month between May and October. Our twice yearly Tent Sales provide our customers with the lowest prices we are able to sell our inventory at and are held at each location twice yearly. We frequent many trade shows such as the Kansas City Boat and Sport show, The Man Show, and the Lake Life Expo. We also held our very first AMP'D UP IN THE OZARKS Car Show in 2024 that kicks off show-season with a car show, live drifting, and an accompanying Man Show Expo that is sure to get everyone revved up for the summer!
MECP Certification
At Creative Audio, we take our jobs seriously even though you may hear us laughing and having a good time, that's because we enjoy our jobs. Don't worry about your vehicle, because it will be in the hands of Mobile Electronics Certified Professionals. The Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) program is the only nationally recognized program that certifies mobile electronics installation technicians and sales people on the installation techniques and capabilities of automotive information technology, entertainment, navigation and safety/security systems. MECP awards Basic Installation Technician, Advanced Installation Technician, Master Installation Technician and Mobile Product Specialist certifications to mobile electronics professionals who pass a written exam and meet the experience criteria. Installation technicians are recertified every two to four years, depending on their level, and are encouraged to progress toward achieving Master Installation Technician certification. Owned and operated by the Consumer Electronics Association, the MECP program has certified more than 35,000 installation technicians since its creation in 1991. Nearly, 10,000 professionals at thousands of retail locations across the country hold current MECP certifications and more than 5,000 installation technicians and sales professionals take the certification exam annually.
