Description
BLADE is an attitude. It's about exploring the art of the possible, without preconceptions. Pushing boundaries.
Cutting edge sound
BLADE is the result of KEF's best and brightest engineers being given free rein to create the ultimate loudspeaker without design or cost limitations. The BLADE concept took years to come to fruition but resulted in a loudspeaker that looks and sounds like no other, the next challenge was to turn it into a product that music lovers could own and enjoy. BLADE was so successful and received so many prestigious awards that we developed a second version: BLADE TWO. This has the same iconic design and technology in a scaled down cabinet that can be accommodated in smaller rooms. It has the same DNA, same unique single apparent source configuraiton and most importanlty, the same phenomenally realistic sound.Uncompromised Innovation
BLADE and BLADE TWO share a new architecture that achieves the ideal point source. The four bass drivers (225mm/9-in. for BLADE, 165mm/6.5-in. for BLADE TWO) are arranged so that their combined acoustic centre occupies exactly the same point in space as that of the Uni-Q HF/MF array. This means that the sound escapes the cabinet as if it weren't there and creates truly holographic imaging. Just as KEF's philosophy has always been to innovate in pursuit of the most accurate and realistic sound, BLADE loudspeakers create a spectacularly warm and expansive sound that draws you in to the music. Totally natural and effortlessly accurate, they are as emotionally inspiring as a live performance.Kent Engineering and Foundry Editions
The stunning BLADE and BLADE TWO cabinets are available in a palette of seductive finishes: Piano Black, Snow White, Warm Metallic Grey, Light Metallic Silver and Racing Red. There are also two special ‘Kent Engineering and Foundry’ finishes, which celebrate KEF's unrivalled heritage of continuous innovation for over 50 years. Frosted Blue, which hints at the blue of the original KEF logo, and Frosted Copper Black - the Kent Engineering and Foundry editions combine BLADE technology with an aesthetic that subtly evokes this rich pedigree. We can also match a colour of your choice. Like everything else about BLADE and BLADE TWO, it's about getting every last detail absolutely right.Single apparent source
Sound from a single source is inherently clear. BLADE's treble and midrange drivers share the same axis and the four bass drivers are mounted such that their acoustic centres are in exactly the same spot. This single apparent source configuration is what makes BLADE and BLADE TWO so incredibly coherent.Discrete bass chambers
BLADE's bass drivers are mounted in discrete chambers. This increases the frequency of internal standing waves to way beyond the crossover point and reduces the need for damping materials (which can impair bass quality). Nothing has been overlooked in the quest for ultimate clarity.Force cancelling
To avoid dissipating the energy of such potent bass drivers by exciting the cabinet, the large kinetic forces involved are cancelled out by mounting the drivers rigidly back-to-back. This highly effective configuration partly accounts for the BLADE and BLADE TWO's astonishing low level resolution.Terminals & terminal links
Two pairs of the finest audiophile WBT terminals for bi-wiring or bi-amping optimise the retrieval of low level detail from the signal in the speaker cable. Patented screw-in linking plugs offer a high spec and simplified alternative to wiring links.Low order crossovers
The simple low order crossovers specified for both BLADE and BLADE TWO employ the best components available. These are carefully selected by a rigorous auditioning process so that every part of the signal path is fine-tuned for maximum clarity.Hard wiring
All the crossover components are individually wired by hand rather than mounted on a conventional printed circuit board. As well as being more environmentally friendly, this optimises both reliability and sound quality by assuring the cleanest possible signal transmission.Model | BLADE TWO |

Used Frequently Asked Questions
- What does used mean? Used products may be unused customer returns that are essentially "new" items, or they may be previously installed products that were returned under warranty or during our return policy period.
- What is the warranty? All of our used items come with a 90-day warranty.
- What's it look like? All of our used items are inspected and graded by our returns team at our facilities. They will test them and grade them to one of four standard gradings: Used Open Box, Used Very Good, Used Good, and Used Acceptable. Please see the following descriptions of each grade - also note that if an item falls under ANY of the criteria for a certain grade, even though the rest of the product is better, we will give it the lowest grade.
- Used Open Box An item in perfect working condition. Original protective wrapping may be missing, but the original packaging is intact and in good condition with minor damage possible. Instructions are included.
- Used Very Good A well-cared-for item with limited use, remains in good working condition. The item may show some limited signs of wear, small scratches, cosmetic blemishes. Item may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged and could be missing some accessories.
- Used Good The item shows wear from use, remains in good condition and functions properly. May have damaged packaging or be repackaged. It may be marked, have identifying markings on it, have minor cosmetic damage. It may be missing some parts or accessories.
- Used Acceptable The item is fairly worn but continues to function properly. While repackaged; signs of wear can include aesthetic issues; scratches, dents. The item may have markings on it or show signs of previous use. Item may be missing some parts or accessories.
