Description
49L7X101 – 10" SoloX® L7X™ Ferrite Competition Subwoofer (1Ω DVC, 1000–2000W RMS)
The KICKER SoloX L7X is the brand's most advanced bass technology yet, built for extreme power handling, long excursion, and fast serviceability in real competition and demo vehicles. The 10-inch 49L7X101 brings that full SoloX motor and recone architecture into a more compact footprint, ideal for tight spaces, multi-sub builds, and daily systems that still demand serious output.
Overview
Full SoloX Motor in a Compact 10"
The 49L7X101 uses the same SoloX® L7X™ motor architecture as the larger 12", 15", and 18" models: a massive, triple-stacked ferrite magnet surrounding a hyper-extended pole piece. This structure generates a powerful, highly linear magnetic field that keeps the 3-inch voice coil under control through long excursions, even at extreme power levels.
Rated for 1000–2000 watts RMS and tuned for a 25–100 Hz operating range, the 10" SoloX is designed to deliver serious low-end performance in a smaller 2 ft³ vented enclosure. It is ideal for high-output daily systems, compact SPL builds, and multi-sub arrays where space efficiency and power handling both matter.
- Triple-stacked ferrite magnet with 8-11/16" (22 cm) diameter and 406 oz (11.5 kg) total magnet weight.
- Hyper-extended pole piece for improved linearity and heat dissipation at high excursion.
- Engineered for high-output bass in compact boxes and tight installation areas.
Construction
Competition-Grade Build, Small-Footprint Package
The SoloX L7X 10" is built like its bigger brothers, with a cast-aluminum basket, double-pressed pulp cone, and a heavy-duty, UV-resistant Santoprene® surround. KICKER's square cone geometry with ribbed corners maximizes effective cone area and manages cone-edge stress, turning stroke into real displacement and output.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness and strength under high SPL use.
- Heavy-duty UV-resistant Santoprene® surround with square cone and ribbed corners.
- Cast-aluminum basket and custom rubber magnet boot for rigidity and protection.
What Makes SoloX® L7X™ Different
Key Design Highlights
Motor & Suspension
3" Voice Coil & Dual-Spider Stability
The 49L7X101 uses a 3-inch (75 mm) voice coil with a 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width on an aluminum former, supported by a dual-spider suspension. This combination keeps the coil centered and stable across the subwoofer's long stroke, while the cone and surround handle the mechanical demands of high SPL playback.
- 3" (75 mm) voice coil with 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width.
- Dual-spider suspension for high-excursion control.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness and durability.
- Heavy-duty Santoprene® surround with square cone and ribbed corners.
Cooling & Reliability
Forced-Air Cooling™ for Competition Duty
The SoloX L7X motor and basket structure are engineered with airflow paths that move air through and around the voice coil, carrying heat away from critical components to help preserve performance and reliability in real competition and demo environments.
- Motor and pole geometry optimized for both output and heat reduction.
- Air moves through the motor structure to help cool the coil.
- Designed for extended high-power use in compact enclosures.
Wiring & Connectivity
1Ω Dual Voice Coils for System Flexibility
The 49L7X101 features a 1Ω dual voice coil (DVC) configuration, providing multiple wiring options for matching high-output monoblock amplifiers and building multi-sub arrays. The SoloX terminal layout makes large-gauge connections clean and manageable in tight spaces.
- 1Ω DVC design for versatile wiring with modern high-power amplifiers.
- Single 8 AWG spring-loaded terminal for primary connection.
- Dual 8 AWG terminal block for fast series / parallel wiring.
Field-Replaceable Recone
Built to Be Rebuilt Quickly
High-output systems push equipment to the limit. The SoloX L7X platform is designed so recones are faster and more consistent, using a pre-assembled recone kit and a no-glue process on 10–18" models to minimize downtime between rounds and shows.
- Pre-assembled cone, coil, and spider recone assemblies.
- No-glue recone process for 10–18" SoloX L7X subs.
- Surround compression system and bolt-on spider landing with alignment shims.
