For 2006–2008 Honda Civic with a gray or taupe dash, U.S. DX trim is excluded. The 2010–2014 Honda Insight application is DX/BASE trim. The separate factory-navigation restrictions in the installation instructions still apply.
Overview
The Metra 70-1722 connects a replacement radio to the original connectors in the listed Honda and Acura applications. It provides power and four-speaker wiring and retains balance and fade, with color-coded leads to join to the aftermarket receiver. Match the exact model, year and factory audio equipment: 2009–2011 Civic, 2010–2011 CR-V and 2010–2014 Insight applications require vehicles without factory navigation, and amplified vehicles require the specified amplifier turn-on connection.
Navigation and amplifier checks
The 2009–2011 Civic, 2010–2011 CR-V and 2010–2014 Insight applications are without factory navigation. For amplified models without NAV, the manual directs amp turn-on to the Light Blue wire at the factory 20-pin connector: pin 16 for Civic 2006–2011 and pin 15 for CR-V 2007–2011. For amplified Civic 2006–2008 with NAV, use Light Blue at pin 20 of the factory 22-pin connector; for CR-V 2007–2009 with NAV, use Red at pin 15 of the 22-pin connector. Odyssey 2008–2010 uses Yellow/Green at pin 16 of the factory 20-pin connector. Follow the manual and receiver instructions before making these connections.
