Alpine’s Apple CarPlay Lineup
The iLX-107 wireless Apple CarPlay system will be available in February for $900 SRI. Alpine offers five other models with wired Apple CarPlay connections, in screen sizes ranging from 7/8/9-inches and priced from $900 to $4,000 SRI.
Alpine also brought back its high end X series of amplifiers, subwoofers and speakers, which were discontinued several years ago, as more dealers are now pushing higher ticket components.
And it cut the price in half for some basic Restyle mechless radios.
Two traditional Alpine car radios get CarPlay and Android Auto, starting at a street price of $699. Both are mechless radios but they may work with an optional outboard DVD/CD drive called the DVE-5300 at $380 suggested retail price.
A 7-inch mechless AV deck, model iLX-207 offers SiriusXM capability, HD Radio, HDMI output, capacitive touch screen, Glympse and Spotify and FLAC file playback in addition to CarPlay and Android Auto at $699 street price with availability in March/April.
It is joined by an INE-W977HD with many of the same features plus built-in navigation at a suggested retail price of $1,500 including lifetime traffic.
Also new is a universal 8-inch Restyle radio for trucks with CarPlay and Android Auto. The model X208U is mechless with similar features to the above radios plus navigation at $2,000 suggested retail price. And there’s also a new mechless Jeep Restyle AV/navigation radio for $2,200 suggested retail price, the i209-WRA 9-inch deck, for the 2011-Up Jeep Wrangler.
These join a new iLX-107, the first aftermarket wireless CarPlay radio to ship in February.
The new X series amplifiers extend the frequency response to 50kHz (Hi-Res Audio quality), offering a flatter response with less phase shift. New X series speakers are available as 6.5-inch coaxial, 6.5-inch component and 6 x 9 component speakers. They are joined by an X series high excursion, high output subwoofer. Shipping is expected around May.
