Description
49L7X151 – 15" SoloX® L7X™ Ferrite Competition Subwoofer (1Ω DVC, 1000–2000W RMS)
The KICKER SoloX L7X is the brand's most advanced bass technology yet, with extreme power handling and a serviceable design made to turn heads and move serious air. The 15-inch 49L7X151 brings that same competition DNA into a slightly smaller footprint, ideal for high-output music and SPL systems that demand brutal low-end.
Overview
Extreme Motor Design for Serious 15" Output
The 49L7X151 carries the same SoloX® L7X™ motor architecture as its bigger 18" brother: a massive, triple-stacked ferrite magnet surrounding a hyper-extended pole piece. This generates a huge, highly linear magnetic field that keeps the 3-inch voice coil under control across its long excursion range.
Rated for 1000–2000 watts RMS with a 1Ω dual voice coil configuration, the 15" L7X is built to pair with serious power and vented enclosures tuned for real street and competition use. Expect ultra-deep, very high-output bass in the 20–100 Hz range when the enclosure is built to spec.
- Triple-stacked ferrite magnet with 8-11/16" (22 cm) diameter and 406 oz (11.5 kg) total magnet weight.
- Hyper-extended pole piece for improved linearity and enhanced heat dissipation.
- Engineered for extreme excursion and high-output bass in real-world SPL and demo builds.
Construction
Built to Survive Real Competition Use
The SoloX L7X platform combines a cast-aluminum basket, double-pressed pulp cone, and a heavy-duty, UV-resistant Santoprene® surround. KICKER's signature square cone with ribbed corners maximizes cone area and controls edge stress, turning stroke into usable displacement without sacrificing durability.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness, strength, and tonal character.
- Heavy-duty UV-resistant Santoprene® surround with square cone and ribbed corners.
- Cast-aluminum basket and custom rubber magnet boot for rigidity and protection.
What Makes SoloX® L7X™ Different
Key Design Highlights
Motor & Suspension
3" Voice Coil & Dual-Spider Stability
The 49L7X151 uses a 3-inch (75 mm) voice coil with a 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width on an aluminum former, supported by a dual-spider suspension. This keeps the coil aligned and stable across the subwoofer's long stroke, while the cone and surround handle the mechanical load.
- 3" (75 mm) voice coil with 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width.
- Dual-spider suspension for high-excursion stability.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness and durability.
- Heavy-duty Santoprene® surround with square cone and ribbed corners.
Cooling & Reliability
Forced-Air Cooling™ for Longer, Harder Play
High-power 15" applications generate serious heat. The SoloX L7X motor structure is designed with airflow in mind, moving air through and around the coil to carry heat away from critical components and extend reliability during back-to-back demos and runs.
- Optimized motor and pole geometry for both output and heat management.
- Airflow paths through basket and motor structure to aid cooling.
- Engineered for competition-level power over extended sessions.
Wiring & Connectivity
Flexible Wiring with 1Ω Dual Voice Coils
The 49L7X151 uses a 1Ω dual voice coil (DVC) configuration for flexible amplifier matching. The SoloX terminal system is designed to make big-wire connections straightforward in tight enclosures and competition builds.
- 1Ω DVC design for multiple wiring options with high-output monoblocks.
- Single 8 AWG spring-loaded terminal for primary connection.
- Dual 8 AWG terminal block to simplify series and parallel wiring.
Field-Replaceable Recone
Serviceability Designed In
Competition subs get pushed to their limits. The SoloX L7X platform is designed for quick turnaround with a field-replaceable recone kit. Using a surround compression system, bolt-on spider landing, and alignment shims, the 10–18" kits can be swapped without glue so you get back to playing faster.
- Pre-assembled cone, voice coil, and spider recone assembly.
- No gluing required for 10–18" L7X recone kits.
- Minimizes downtime between rounds or demo sessions.
