JL Audio AP2004/BT – Compact 4-Channel Marine Amplifier with Bluetooth® Streaming
The JL Audio AP2004/BT is a compact 4-channel Class-D amplifier with integrated Bluetooth® audio designed for small boats, PWCs, and overland vehicles. It combines efficient full-range power, marine-rated durability, and simple wireless control in a small footprint that is easy to mount in tight spaces.
Compact Class-D Power with Bluetooth® Audio
The AP2004/BT uses efficient Class-D amplifier technology to provide clean power with lower current draw than traditional Class-AB designs. It is designed to run from a 9–16 VDC electrical system and is well suited for smaller boats, jet skis, and powersports/overland applications where available power and space are limited.
Rated at 40 watts x 4 into 4 ohms or 50 watts x 4 into 2 ohms (14.4 V, <1% THD), the amplifier can also be bridged to deliver 100 watts x 2 at 4 ohms. This provides enough output for full-range speakers and small subwoofer channels within a single, compact chassis.

Bluetooth® Control and Marine-Ready Construction
The AP2004/BT pairs directly with a compatible smartphone or tablet for wireless audio streaming. An IPX7-rated wired remote is included and can be flush-mounted, surface-mounted, or bar-mounted, allowing you to control playback and volume from a convenient location on your boat or vehicle.
The amplifier chassis is built to IP67 water and dust standards (excluding cables) and is ignition protected, making it suitable for harsh marine environments and engine compartments when installed correctly. Its compact size allows flexible mounting options without taking up valuable storage or cockpit space.

Low-profile, machined mounting fixtures provide rock-solid attachment points for the VeX™ Enclosed Systems to a variety of roll cage diameters. The fixtures are patented and American-made by Axia Alloys. They feature the JL Audio name logo machined in the side. Each mounting fixture set is designed to mount two VeX™ Pods.

Ideal for powersports, marine and off-road vehicle applications, these enclosed speaker systems include high-performance, marine-grade coaxial speakers with silk dome tweeters housed in rugged, injection-molded enclosures to deliver clean, loud audio.
A rotating clamp receiver is included with each VeX™ pod to mate with an appropriate mounting fixture (sold separately, click here to view) for mounting to a roll-cage, tower or tube structure, allowing precise aiming for optimum sound. Mounting fixtures (sold separately, click here to view) are available in a variety of sizes to fit a wide range of pipe diameters.

Transflective™ LED Illumination
Included on this M6 model is JL Audio’s Transflective™ LED technology. By emitting light from multiple LEDs through our specially engineered cone material, this patent-pending breakthrough delivers a beautiful cone illumination effect, with no hot spots or reflections on the cone surface.
Choose from seven fixed lighting colors or control the color and intensity of the lighting actively using a lighting controller accessory (sold separately). Separate 12V wiring is required to power the illumination.
Coaxial Speaker Technology
Every M6 coaxial loudspeaker starts with a long-excursion woofer designed with JL Audio’s proprietary motor, suspension and cone modeling systems to yield superior frequency response, smooth mid-range dispersion and linear performance at all listening levels. JL Audio’s acoustics laboratory in Miramar, Florida performs extensive testing on multiple generations of prototypes to refine every design and extract maximum performance.
Matching Silk-Dome Tweeters
Since the different size woofers in the M6 coaxials have different upper frequency response limits, each size pairs with its own specially designed, matching silk dome tweeter (0.8, 1.0, or 1.25-inch diameter). Each of these tweeters is precisely tuned via a rear cavity that optimizes its mid-range extension to seamlessly transition with its matching woofer. The result is smooth, evenly dispersed sound throughout the critical crossover region, making the overall sonic presentation clean and clear.
Advanced Built-In Crossover Networks
Crossover networks are a critical part of the M6 coaxial speakers’ acoustic design and are considerably more sophisticated than those used in most marine coaxial speakers. The M6-650X employs a 1st order low-pass and 2nd order high-pass filter, while the M6-770X and M6-880X apply a 2nd order low-pass and 3rd order high-pass filter. Each crossover network also employs an electronic tweeter protection circuit to minimize the possibility of tweeter failure.
The multiple components required inthese crossovers are laid out on a ring-shaped circuit board that is built into each speaker’s terminal assembly, ensuring that the crossover is secure and protected from the elements.
Like all JL Audio marine speakers, this system is weatherproof and built to deliver years of listening enjoyment.
