JL Audio AP600/6 – 6-Channel Staggered-Power Class-D Marine Amplifier
The JL Audio AP600/6 is a staggered-power 6-channel Class-D amplifier from the AP marine series, designed to deliver up to 600 watts of clean, efficient power from a compact, IP67-rated chassis. With four full-range channels plus a higher-power fifth/sixth channel pair, it can drive multiple speaker zones and a dedicated subwoofer from one amplifier, making it ideal for boats and powersports builds with several listening areas.
Staggered 6-Channel Power for Multi-Zone Systems
The AP600/6 is the most versatile amplifier in the AP lineup, with four full-range channels for speakers and a higher-powered fifth/sixth channel pair optimized for subwoofers or additional full-range zones. Its Class-D design provides strong output while keeping current draw manageable on marine electrical systems.
At 14.4 V and less than 1% THD, channels 1–4 are rated for 50 watts x 4 into 4 ohms or 75 watts x 4 into 2 ohms. Channels 5–6 provide 100 watts x 2 into 4 ohms, and can be bridged for up to 300 watts x 1 into 4 ohms. Bridging channels 1–4 yields up to 150 watts x 2 at 4 ohms. This staggered layout gives you the flexibility to power several speaker pairs and a subwoofer from one amplifier.

LCD On-Amp Control, Easy Tune & Marine Durability
A built-in LCD display gives you direct access to key amplifier settings right on the amp, simplifying setup and adjustment in tight installation spaces. For faster configuration, the AP600/6 supports the Easy Tune feature when used with a Fusion® stereo with built-in DSP and the Fusion® Audio app, allowing profile-based amplifier setup focused on sound quality and speaker protection.
The amplifier chassis carries an IP67 water and dust rating (excluding cables) and is ignition protected, making it suitable for demanding marine environments and appropriate engine compartment installations. Its compact size and efficient thermal design allow it to be tucked away while still reliably powering multiple zones.

Coaxial Speaker Technology
Every M6 coaxial loudspeaker starts with a long-excursion woofer designed with JL Audio’s proprietary motor, suspension and cone modeling systems to yield superior frequency response, smooth mid-range dispersion and linear performance at all listening levels. JL Audio’s acoustics laboratory in Miramar, Florida performs extensive testing on multiple generations of prototypes to refine every design and extract maximum performance.
Matching Silk-Dome Tweeters
Since the different size woofers in the M6 coaxials have different upper frequency response limits, each size pairs with its own specially designed, matching silk dome tweeter (0.8, 1.0, or 1.25-inch diameter). Each of these tweeters is precisely tuned via a rear cavity that optimizes its mid-range extension to seamlessly transition with its matching woofer. The result is smooth, evenly dispersed sound throughout the critical crossover region, making the overall sonic presentation clean and clear.
Advanced Built-In Crossover Networks
Crossover networks are a critical part of the M6 coaxial speakers’ acoustic design and are considerably more sophisticated than those used in most marine coaxial speakers. The M6-650X employs a 1st order low-pass and 2nd order high-pass filter, while the M6-770X and M6-880X apply a 2nd order low-pass and 3rd order high-pass filter. Each crossover network also employs an electronic tweeter protection circuitto minimize the possibility of tweeter failure.
The multiple components required inthese crossovers are laid out on a ring-shaped circuit board that is built into each speaker’s terminal assembly, ensuring that the crossover is secure and protected from the elements.
