Description
49L7X152 – 15" SoloX® L7X™ Ferrite Competition Subwoofer (2Ω DVC, 1000–2000W RMS)
The KICKER SoloX L7X is the brand's most advanced bass platform to date, with extreme power handling and a field-serviceable design aimed directly at serious SPL and demo builds. The 15-inch 49L7X152 brings this flagship technology to a dual 2Ω voice coil configuration, ideal for a wide range of amplifier and system layouts.
Overview
High-Excursion 15" with Dual 2Ω Coils
The 49L7X152 shares the same SoloX® L7X™ motor design: a triple-stacked ferrite magnet wrapped around a hyper-extended pole piece. This creates a strong, linear magnetic field to keep the 3-inch coil under control at large excursion, delivering deep, loud bass with authority.
With 1000–2000 watts RMS of recommended power and a 2Ω dual voice coil configuration, the 15" L7X152 offers flexible wiring options to match a variety of monoblock amplifiers and multi-sub setups without sacrificing output capability in the 20–100 Hz band.
- Triple-stacked ferrite magnet with 8-11/16" (22 cm) diameter and 406 oz (11.5 kg) total magnet weight.
- Hyper-extended pole piece for improved linearity and better heat dissipation at high excursion.
- Engineered for extreme low-end output in high-power SPL and demo systems.
Construction
Competition-Grade Materials & Geometry
The SoloX L7X platform uses a cast-aluminum basket, double-pressed pulp cone, and heavy-duty, UV-resistant Santoprene® surround. KICKER's square cone with ribbed corners is designed to maximize cone area and control cone-edge motion, translating excursion into SPL without compromising longevity.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness and strength under extreme loads.
- Heavy-duty Santoprene® surround with square cone and ribbed corners.
- Cast-aluminum basket and custom rubber magnet boot for durability and protection.
What Makes SoloX® L7X™ Different
Key Design Highlights
Motor & Suspension
3" Voice Coil & Dual-Spider Suspension
The 49L7X152 uses a 3-inch (75 mm) voice coil with a 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width, supported by a dual-spider suspension system for alignment and stability. The cone and surround are built to channel that excursion into real, usable output.
- 3" (75 mm) voice coil with 2.5" (62.5 mm) winding width.
- Dual-spider suspension for high-excursion control.
- Double-pressed pulp cone for stiffness and durability.
- Heavy-duty Santoprene® surround with square geometry and ribbed corners.
Cooling & Reliability
Forced-Air Cooling™ for Competition Duty
Heat is one of the biggest threats to any competition subwoofer. The SoloX L7X motor is designed to move air through the structure, promoting better thermal management and helping to preserve performance and reliability over time.
- Motor and pole piece designed for airflow and heat reduction.
- Air moves through motor and basket structures to help cool the coil.
- Optimized for repeated high-power use in SPL and demo vehicles.
Wiring & Connectivity
2Ω Dual Voice Coils for Flexible System Design
The 49L7X152 uses a 2Ω dual voice coil (DVC) configuration, opening up multiple wiring options for matching modern monoblock amplifiers and multi-sub arrays. The SoloX terminal system simplifies large-gauge connections in high-power builds.
- 2Ω DVC design for flexible wiring with a range of amplifier combinations.
- Single 8 AWG spring-loaded terminal for primary connection.
- Dual 8 AWG terminal block for fast series / parallel wiring.
Field-Replaceable Recone
Designed to Be Rebuilt, Fast
When a sub sees real competition use, recones are part of the game. The SoloX L7X system is built so recones are as fast and consistent as possible, using a pre-assembled recone kit and a no-glue process on 10–18" models to minimize downtime.
- Pre-assembled cone, coil, and spider recone assemblies.
- No-glue recone process for 10–18" SoloX L7X subs.
- Surround compression system and bolt-on spider landing with alignment shims.
