The 2002 Chevrolet Blazer and S10 and 2002–2003 GMC Sonoma require a double-DIN factory radio. The 2003–2006 Hyundai Santa Fe application requires the Monsoon amplifier. The 2003–2006 Kia Sorento application is EX trim or LX with the Sport Package.
Overview
The Metra 70-2003 lets you connect a new receiver to the original 24-pin radio connector in the listed GM, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki and Toyota applications. Color-coded wires handle the receiver-side connections, and the factory connector stays intact. This is a basic harness that does not supply accessory power through the vehicle plug: the included red wire must be routed to the fuse box, using the supplied brass fuse tap as directed.
Accessory power requires an additional wiring step
The linked wiring note specifically names the 70-2003 as a basic harness without accessory-power support. Run the included red wire to the fuse box to supply accessory power to the aftermarket radio; the brass fuse tap is included for that connection. Check the receiver instructions and exact vehicle wiring before installation. The harness alone does not establish retention of every factory control or vehicle feature.
