Not a Package. Not a Template. A One-Off Custom Build.
This Tesla Model Y is not being presented as a plug-and-play upgrade or a recommended parts list. It is a documented example of what high-level custom car audio fabrication can look like when the vehicle, the equipment, the installer, and the customer’s goals all line up.
The Model Y platform gave the team a quiet, modern, technology-heavy canvas. The challenge was not simply adding louder speakers or more bass. The challenge was building a complete system that respected the vehicle, controlled the cabin acoustics, showcased the equipment, and delivered a finished installation with the kind of detail that rewards a second and third look.
Installer Spotlight
Built by Chad Weeden: A Career Shaped by Custom Cars and Mobile Electronics
Chad Weeden’s background in mobile electronics goes back long before this Tesla project. His path started around car audio shops and custom vehicles at a young age, eventually leading to work connected with ARC Audio and founder Demitrios Karabinis. What began with shop-floor work turned into custom fabrication, system design, and full vehicle builds.
At 21, Chad opened California Auto Stereo and built a reputation around customer service, custom rides, and show-level execution. His work has been connected to magazine features, cover vehicles, television builds, and multiple TLC Overhaulin’ projects during the Chip Foose era.
That history matters here. This Model Y is not impressive because of one expensive part or one dramatic fabrication detail. It is impressive because it reflects the kind of installer who understands the full chain: design, disassembly, materials, acoustics, wiring, fabrication, tuning, finish, and presentation.
Build Stage 1
Interior Teardown & Acoustic Foundation
A build at this level starts before the visible fabrication ever begins. The Model Y had to be opened up carefully so the Creative Audio team could access the vehicle structure, plan wire routing, treat key surfaces, and prepare the cabin for a system with this much detail and output.

The System Architecture
Focal Utopia M Front Stage
The front-stage foundation used Focal Utopia M components, including TBM tweeters, 3.5WM midrange drivers, and 8WM woofers. The goal was not just volume. It was scale, detail, presence, and control.
Dual JL Audio 12W7AE-3 Subwoofers
A pair of JL Audio 12W7AE-3 subwoofer drivers anchored the low end. In this build, the subs were not hidden in a generic box; they became part of the visual identity through a custom all-Plexiglas enclosure.
Mosconi PRO Amplification
The system used multiple Mosconi PRO amplifiers, including PRO 4|10 and PRO 1|10 models. A build this complex needs power that is planned by channel, purpose, and system role.
Mosconi Aerospace DSP Control
A Mosconi 8TO12 Aerospace DSP, Mosconi RCD controller, and Mosconi AMAS 96K streaming accessory gave the system advanced control, tuning flexibility, and source support.
Build Stage 2
Door Pods, Plexiglas, Lighting & Show-Level Finish
This is where the install moves from equipment selection into true custom fabrication. The custom door pods, all-Plexiglas subwoofer enclosure, wiring layout, lighting integration, and finishing details are what turn this Tesla Model Y into a documented Creative Audio showpiece.

Why This Build Stands Out
The Acoustic Work Came First
The extensive Focal BAMXXXL treatment shows that this was not built around brute force alone. Controlling the cabin gives the system a better foundation before the amplifiers and drivers ever become the focus.
The Front Stage Was Treated Like the Main Event
With Focal Utopia M tweeters, midrange drivers, and woofers, the system was built to deliver more than bass. The custom front-stage work is what gives an elite system its sense of space, detail, and presence.
The System Was Tuned, Not Just Assembled
A Mosconi Aerospace DSP gave the team the control needed to manage routing, equalization, and system behavior. In a quiet EV cabin with custom speaker locations, tuning is not optional. It is part of the build.
| Build Area | Equipment & Work | Role in the Build |
|---|---|---|
| Sound Treatment | Seven sheets of Focal BAMXXXL acoustic insulation | Helped control unwanted resonance and road noise before the upgraded system did the heavy lifting. |
| Tweeters | Focal TBM Utopia M Series tweeters | Added high-frequency detail and front-stage clarity. |
| Midrange & Midbass | Focal 3.5WM midrange drivers and Focal 8WM woofers | Created a serious Utopia M front-stage foundation with custom speaker placement. |
| Subwoofer System | Pair of JL Audio 12W7AE-3 subwoofer drivers in a custom all-Plexiglas enclosure | Delivered low-frequency authority while becoming one of the visual centerpieces of the install. |
| Amplification | Mosconi PRO 4|10 and Mosconi PRO 1|10 amplifiers | Provided dedicated power across the front stage and substage. |
| Processing & Control | Mosconi 8TO12 Aerospace DSP, Mosconi RCD controller, and Mosconi AMAS 96K streaming accessory | Supported advanced tuning, system control, and source flexibility. |
| Power, Wiring & Lighting | Stinger wiring, Stinger distribution, Roadkill Fast Rings, JL Audio lighting control, and Race Sport RGB lighting | Supported clean power delivery, installation detail, lighting control, and visual finish. |

A Build Worth Documenting
It Shows the Difference Between Installation and Fabrication
Anyone can list equipment. This build shows what happens when the vehicle is reworked around the system.
It Honors the Installer’s Craft
The work reflects years of custom car audio experience, from panel work and acoustic treatment to tuning and presentation.
It Captures a One-Off Moment
This is not a package build. It is a finished project created for one customer, one vehicle, and one very specific vision.
Creative Audio’s Custom Install Legacy
A project like this depends on far more than the brand names in the vehicle. It takes disassembly discipline, fabrication skill, wiring knowledge, acoustic treatment, electrical planning, lighting integration, DSP tuning, and the ability to finish the vehicle in a way that feels intentional from every angle.
That is what makes this Tesla Model Y worth archiving. It is a snapshot of Creative Audio’s custom install capability and a showcase of the type of work that comes from experienced builders who have spent years in the craft.
