Overview
The Metra 70-1677-1 provides the wiring connection between an aftermarket receiver and the original radio connectors in supported GM vehicles. It plugs into the vehicle side without cutting the factory connector wiring. Color-coded receiver leads are connected or soldered to the new radio, supplying its power and the specified four-speaker connection.
Make the connection at the existing plugs
The vehicle-specific adapters mate with the original radio connectors. The harness avoids cutting those connector leads during the receiver replacement.
Different GM models have different coverage
Examples include Chevrolet Corvette 1978–1989 and GMC Typhoon 1992–1993. Use the full application list to select the exact model and year.
Confirm the full set of radio installation parts
The adapter leads must be connected or soldered to the replacement receiver wiring. A dash kit and antenna adapter may also be necessary. If the vehicle has factory functions you want to retain, check whether a separate interface is needed for those functions.
