Description
Rework the Element audio system at its factory connections
Metra 70-1719 Amplifier Bypass Harness for Honda Element 2003–2011
A vehicle-specific path around the original amplifier, with radio and amplifier connectors for the installation.
Overview
The Metra 70-1719 helps connect an aftermarket receiver while bypassing the factory amplifier in a 2003–2011 Honda Element. Its vehicle-specific plugs connect at the original radio and amplifier connections, and the color-coded leads give you a defined starting point for the new receiver wiring. Plan the speaker connections before installation: the factory amplifier is behind the passenger-side kick panel, and the original dual-voice-coil subwoofer needs appropriate crossover protection if used.
Check the speaker plan before bypassing the amplifier
Follow the 70-1719 instructions for the bypass connections. The manual identifies Green/White and White/Red as sub coil 1 positive and negative, and Brown/Yellow and Brown/Blue as sub coil 2 positive and negative. These identified subwoofer leads do not mean that every factory subwoofer configuration is retained. Use the required crossover protection and confirm the complete audio configuration before connection.
