Overview
The Metra 70-1729 connects the original radio connector in a compatible Acura or Honda to an aftermarket receiver. Its vehicle-side adapter preserves the factory connector wiring, while the receiver side uses color-coded leads that you connect or solder to the radio harness. The specified connection provides radio power and four-speaker wiring.
A reversible vehicle-side connection
The harness plugs into the supported original radio connector, keeping the factory connector attached to the vehicle wiring.
Match your model's coverage
The Honda Fit application is 2009–2017, while the HR-V application is 2016–2018. The complete application list keeps those ranges separate.
Prepare the receiver harness before installation
Connect or solder the color-coded adapter leads to the receiver wiring. A dash kit, antenna adapter or additional interface may also be required, depending on the vehicle and the factory controls or other functions being retained.

Equipment and installation qualifications
- Acura TL/TSX 2009–2014 and Honda Accord 2008–2012 require non-amplified factory audio. Both navigation and non-navigation configurations are listed. Accord automatic/manual climate controls and gunmetal/taupe dash alternatives remain supported.
- Honda Civic uses non-amplified factory audio: 2009–2011 with navigation, in gray or taupe dash configurations; 2012 with or without navigation; 2013 with navigation or LX without navigation; and 2014 LX.
- Honda CR-V 2010–2011 requires amplified audio with navigation. CR-V 2012–2014 requires non-amplified audio with navigation; 2015 requires LX/non-amplified; 2016 requires non-amplified audio.
- Honda CR-Z 2011–2016 requires non-amplified audio without navigation. Fit 2009–2013 requires non-amplified audio, with both navigation and non-navigation configurations listed; Fit 2015–2017 requires non-amplified audio without a touchscreen.
- Honda HR-V 2016–2018 and Insight 2010–2013 require non-amplified audio. Insight navigation and non-navigation configurations are both listed.
- Honda Odyssey 2011–2013 requires non-amplified audio without navigation. Odyssey 2014–2017 requires non-amplified audio, with both LX and EX-or-higher configurations listed.
- Honda Pilot 2009–2015 supports amplified or non-amplified audio in the listed navigation and non-navigation configurations. Pilot 2016–2018 requires non-amplified audio: with navigation, without navigation with a touchscreen, or LX without navigation or a touchscreen. Pilot 2019–2021 requires LX with non-amplified audio, without navigation or a touchscreen.
