The 2003 Ford Expedition application is for late-production vehicles. The listed 2006–2007 Ford Escape and 2006–2007 Mercury Mariner applications are Hybrid models.
Overview
The Metra 70-1776 supports a radio replacement in the listed Ford, Lincoln and Mercury applications with factory navigation and without THX audio. It retains the original subwoofer amplifier and rear-seat entertainment connections, along with the VSS and reverse navigation wires. The grey/red steering-wheel-control wire is also retained. Vehicle-specific plugs preserve the original radio connector wiring while color-coded leads connect to the aftermarket receiver.
Plan receiver and control-interface compatibility
The applications are Ford Escape 2006–2007, Ford Expedition 2003–2006, Lincoln Navigator 2003–2006 and Mercury Mariner 2006–2007, subject to the factory-navigation and non-THX requirement. Connect or solder the color-coded receiver leads. Retaining a control wire does not mean a steering-wheel-control interface is included; additional interface, dash or antenna parts may be needed.

Equipment and installation qualifications
- The 2003 Ford Expedition application is for late-production vehicles. The listed 2006–2007 Ford Escape and 2006–2007 Mercury Mariner applications are Hybrid models.
- Factory navigation and the existing without-THX requirement still apply. Retention covers the specified original subwoofer amplifier and rear-seat-entertainment connections; verify the exact vehicle equipment before installation.
