Overview
The Metra 70-1782 makes the connection between an aftermarket radio and the original vehicle connector in the supported applications. Its adapter plugs into the factory radio wiring without cutting off the connector. Color-coded leads connect or solder to the replacement receiver for radio power and the specified four-speaker connection.
Preserve the factory-side connection
The adapter plugs into the original radio connector, leaving its factory leads intact. The wire connections are completed on the receiver side.
Match both make and model year
The application list distinguishes Chevrolet Metro 1998–1999 from Geo Metro 1989–1997, and includes separate Tracker ranges. Use the complete vehicle name and year.
Plan mounting, antenna and retained features
Connect or solder the color-coded leads to the new radio harness. The installation may require a dash kit or antenna adapter. A separate interface may be necessary for retained original controls, navigation, video or other functions depending on the vehicle.
