Overview
The Metra 70-2103 adapts the factory radio connector in the listed Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 applications for a new receiver. Color-coded leads provide four-speaker and radio wiring while leaving the original vehicle plug intact. Choose it with its limitations in mind: it does not supply an ignition/accessory source, and factory warning chimes and OnStar features are lost. The included red wire must run to the fuse box for accessory power.
Account for power and feature losses before purchase
Use the linked wire-run instructions for the included red lead and brass fuse tap. The 70-2103 does not provide accessory power through the original radio plug. It also does not retain warning chimes or OnStar, so evaluate whether this basic harness meets the required functions of the installation before choosing the remaining components.
