The 2006–2007 Saturn Ion and Vue application requires non-amplified factory audio. For 2006–2007 Saturn Ion and Vue equipped with OnStar, Metra's application guide specifies GMOS-LAN-06. The 70-2202 harness alone is not the prescribed solution for those OnStar-equipped vehicles; GMOS-LAN-06 is a separate part.
Overview
The Metra 70-2202 connects a new radio to the original wiring in a 2006–2007 Saturn Ion or Vue. Its vehicle-specific connector leaves the factory plug intact, while color-coded leads provide the receiver-side power and four-speaker connections. Use the exact model-year application to choose the harness, then plan any mounting, antenna and factory-feature components required by the rest of the installation.
Finish the receiver-side wiring before connecting the vehicle
Join or solder the color-coded 70-2202 leads to the corresponding aftermarket-radio wires using the receiver's diagram, then connect the vehicle-specific plug. The harness is one part of the radio installation; check the required dash mounting, antenna connection and any separate interface for factory controls or other retained functions.
